Wednesday 5/11 - Manuel Antonio Park and House Party

It was raining on Wednesday...a LOT. I got soaked, all day. Walking to the park, hiking in the park, laying on the beach. But it's ok - it was warm, and the park was beautiful.

We hiked about 1 mile up, and another 1 mile back, to a waterfall, crossing streams and tramping through mud. Then we met up with more from the group at the beach where the water was calm and warm in a cove (just my style). Some raccoons tried to steal our clothes. They were definitely the less impressive of the wildlife. I was much more interested in the other animals we saw: a sloth (laying in a tree), a sizeable iguana, monkeys, and a large rabbit looking thing.

The evening plan was pizza and beer at the house, so I and others made another trip into Quepos to restock and refuel. Each time we do this, we typically take the local bus into Quepos for 50 cents, and then we take a taxi back for $5 or $6.

Wednesday night had all the friends and family at the house. We had fooseball (sp?) competitions, pool, jumping IN the pool, dancing, etc. It was the first day Brett and Michelle's families met each other as well!
