Nosara, Nicoya Peninsula

This week I am staying with Rachel, a friend from high school, at her aunt and uncle´s home in Nosara, on the West Coast of Costa Rica on the Nicoya Peninsula. It´s not as humid as Manuel Antonio, and much drier (the rainy season is definitely over this far north).

Because of the condition of roads and lack of light, we all stayed at a friend´s home on Sunday night closer to San Jose. Up early and on the road by 6:30am, we began the several hour drive to Nosara, arriving around lunch time after stops for breakfast, milkshakes and petrol.

Their home is beautiful, and the infinite pool overlooks the beach, as do the views from each of Rachel´s and my patios in the guest house. We each have our own room, bathroom and patio for the week.

So far we´ve been fairly relaxed, laying out by the pool and doing yoga at the Yoga Institute (they have a really neat open air studio up several steps so you are basically in the tree tops!). We will pick up the pace the rest of the week and do more hikes and walks, but for now, life is good, and slow....

This is a pictures of last night´s sunset!
